Question Datatool S4 Alarm

Hello - I purchased and home-installed a Datatool S4 alarm. This is the alarm offered by triumph. As a USA resident, I'm not used to an alarm that I can't hear arm/disarm beeps. I see that there is an option to do this, but it's a special code that only datatool installers have (and will charge me for). Since I own the alarm, I don't want to pay money to access features.

Does anyone have information which will allow me to:
1) access the special features like an alarm beep
2) turn off the passive arming (I hate this so much).

Thanks!

Noah

I had one of these alarms on my Bonnie, I am sure you can change the bleeps and warnings in the service mode.(hold one of the buttons, can't remember which with the ignition on until bleeps every minute) Don't you have the hand book that came with the alarm? If not have you tried a search on google for one.
I am sure you cannot disable the passive arming, very annoying I know.

Not sure specifically which version of the S4 you have, but the Datatool site has all its user manuals online....

You should find it here, and yes you can set the beeps!

Heya's - talked to datatool and a couple of things:

1) It is impossible to disable passive arming as it is necessary for EU insurance companies in order to credit owners with having an alarm (which they ought to reconsider when selling to the US market)

2) you can set it to beep when you arm / disarm, but the instructions for doing so are NOT in the manual that comes with the unit (because this feature is illegal in some/many/all EU countries). They sent me a pdf file of how to get into the various special features that are not in the manual, including nudge sensitivity and various other things. Setup was easy and works great.

My Triple came with an S4 fitted and despite following all the instructions to disarm it when I wanted to work on the bike- not far off a resto, it consistently re-armed and went off. I lost it in the end and removed it with side-cutters and a 6lb sledge silenced it. To be fair to the system the alarm was still going off after 2 hits of the sledge. The 3rd and 4th killed it. This removal obviously triggered the immobiliser, so I had a friend remove that for me, took him an hour and was returned to me ready for action.

Hey nbolmer,
any chance of a copy of that pdf, as I've left the UK for Germany and here the beeps are very definitely illegal. Unfortunately I can't turn the bloody things off and it's getting me into trouble over here!

cheers
