Bike to Bike communications

Does anyone have a good, and affordable, bike to bike communication system (other than hand signals) ?

I have the Autocom system. I can run two-ways for bike to bike com, mp3 player which I don't have yet, cell phone and gps. My mistake was buying cheap two-way radios. (Cobra $35.00) I will probably wind up spending the money to get better quality two way radios.

+1 for the Autocom. Hands down the best bike to bike and/or rider to pillion out there. www.autocomamerica.com I believe.

I have the Motocomm ab-1m. That's the past model. Great service when i had a problem with a fleabay 'never used' item. They not only replaced the mic, but gave me the modified version (vox switched on with my exhaust noise). I have only tested my GMRS radios with it. I have used the cell phone interface. Not all phones work correctly (the cheap house cordless worked though). I needed a new phone anyhow. With any unit I would test your radios, phone, and mp3 immediately. Speakers will be difficult to get just right (millitmeters count here to hear).

This isn't the same quality as the Autocomm or the two or three other units (J&M, Baer, a couple of other Brit outfits), but I think it is the best of the cheap units (well under $200). But I can make phone calls while moving across the interstate and be understood (ok, I don;t use that feature while in any traffic -- the cages drive bad enough without me adding to it).

How does the Autocom install. Does it fit under the seat? I have an America. Are there all sort of cables to attach the unit to rider and passenger or is it radio based?

Thanks

Tig,
Alot of people keep there's in an electric tank bag. Probably a little too hot under the seat on a Sprint. You could also fit it inside the fairing.
