Roll bags

Hi everyone

Can anyone recommend a good roll bag (round shaped bag with flatter bottom) to sling across the back seat or carrier of the my Speedmaster. I have the factory panniers but also intend to get a good quality leather bag or other bag that would be somewhat weather proof.

Try Andy Strapz A Bagz,or his AA Bagz. I have both and they are excellent.

Thanks Bung1. They look exactly like the bags I am after and have sent Andy an email to see if he would post them to New Zealand for me.

There is the Bikers Friend bag that looks pretty interesting:

Ortlieb

I used a very cheap Hein Gericke bag on a recent trip but the welded seam gave way. I now have an Ortlieb medium sized roll bag which I bought from an outdoor/kayaking supplies shop. It's pretty tough and 100% waterproof. Unlike the HG, it has no zip flap, but an open end which is rolled and clipped to close.

I think the best place for that kind of thing is your local outdoors store. You can get a drybag, and they generally have plenty of places to clip straps onto them to attach to the bike. Duffel style bags with a waterproof zipper are plenty waterproof for on the bike.
