Question Tubeless tire repair

What do you carry for a tubeless fix?
I was thinking of getting one of these: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...674&division=6

And toss in enough CO2 cartridges for a refill.

Wink

I carry one of these. I have used them in anger a couple of times and they work. The three CO2 cartridges are enough to get you going but won't get you up to normal running pressure so a steady ride and a stop at the nearest service station to top it up with air is needed. Or carry a little bicycle pump and excercise those biceps.

I carrry the two items below, and a few CO2 cartridges I purchased locally. It all fits in the bag that comes with the tire plugger kit. I haven't had to use it yet (fingers crossed), but it's high quality stuff.

Go to Lockhart-Phillips and buy a kit. Aerostich will sell you the same thing for twice the price.

Thanks for the info and links, it got me looking and thinking some more.
An electric pump would be nice with a plug kit.
I did find this kit http://www.stopngo.com/products/plugger/1001.asp that covers patching and inflation at a pretty low cost.

Check this article out if you're interested in an electric pump:
www.mcnews.com/mcn/features/Novpumpstest.pdf

They were a fan of the Slime Power Sports Tire Inflator at $34.95USD.

Aerostitch link I posted above has the Stop n Go kit without CO2 for $32.00 (and yup, you can probably get it cheaper elsewhere ). Than and the Slime pump wouldn't be too much more than the Stop n Go kit with CO2, and seems like a really good setup, if you don't mind a little extra to pack.

BTW - this is totally off topic but if you do put in an order with Aerostich throw this into the basket: http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/...w-p-16686.html

It really is the best invention since the frisbee.

I've been using the original (called the "Wee Willie") for about 10yrs. and it really is a good thing. The Wee Willie came filled but I don't know what they used for cleaner. And, now that I have the iridium face shield, that's critical. Anything but mild soap and water could be a disaster. Great gizmo.

Plugs and larger cylinders

I have a plug, that I have used a couple of times and it did as advertised.

I also use a CO2 cartridge to fill er up, but I use a larger version, where one cylinder can completely inflate a rear tire on my Sprint. I haven't been able to find a replacement for the three I bought when new 2 years ago, nad am down to the one left....

The most common size is 12gram cartridges (bicycle tires and paintball guns), but various manufacturers make 16g, 20g (probably what you had) and even 30-35. They key is to see if you need a threaded cartridge and get the right type for your adapter.

They can be found at walmart back with all the scary redneck stuff, bicycle shops and outdoors stores.

Of course, you could always get a 12oz. paintball canister and just recharge it every 10 flats or so :-P

Yesterday I picked up a plug kit and slime pump for 46.90 while at the dealer.
Hope I never have to use it but its a little piece of mind while out of town.
