Scangauge II

Anyone know anything about these :- http://www.scangauge.com/

As the injected Trumpets seem to be OBDII compliant I was wandering if it would work on my '04 'Tona.

I was thinking of getting one for my car and if I can also use it on my bike to read fault codes it would be a bonus and easier to justify to 'er indoors.

I didn't initially respond to this one b/c I don't actually know what I'm talking about, but I'm pretty sure a generic scangauge won't give you anything from the Triumph ECU.

I could be wrong. If you try it out, let us know the results!

Wink

Thanks Rustbucket.

I think a little more research before I invest might be good idea. If only I understood what all this wiggly amp stuff was about.

The key word is 'compliant'. OBDII is an accepted international standard. All readers will identify and display stored error messages. Depending on price, they may or may not have reset capability. They will not access proprietary functions. They are not Tuneboys.
Most auto parts stores will scan your system for free.

I was thinking of buying one of these also, but I have one little problem....In my Haynes manual for my car, it gives me the fault codes, and their definitions. I also have the Haynes manual for my Sprint, but no such codes are present in the book. The book states that "this task is impractical for the DIY mechanic.....because an authorization code is required to operate it." I'm thinking what the book is talking about is the specific Triumph diagnostic tool, not a generic one.
Does anyone here have the shop manual for the Sprint with the trouble codes in it? One would think it should have them in it.
