Does anyone have experince with the Motorola S9 Headphones?

I have a Cell Phone that has Itunes and i'm thinking about picking up a pair of the S9's for long trips...not so much for the talking but for the wireless headphones.

My only concern is that the headphones wont be loud enough on the highway (i wear a half helmet).

Your thoughts?

Would you be mounting them in your helmet? They look like the style I think of as 'earbuds on a stick'. You might be able to surgically remove the stick and use them as regular earbuds.

In my experience (which is only on an unfaired bike), the 'earspeakers' that install in your helmet permanently were not able to overcome wind noise above ~50mph (YMMV, of course). I had to play them at a very loud volume to hear them at any speed.

Since I've already lost enough of my hearing (and usually ride with earplugs), I picked up a set of in-ear headphones from Shure. They actually sit in your ear in much the same manner as earplugs do. They block out about the same amount of sound as my earplugs, so I can listen to music at a comfortable volume and still hear the occasional siren or horn.

I don't know offhand if this exists, but I would recommend going with a separate bluetooth receiver and good quality in-ear headphones. I'll be looking for something in a few months when I get a GPS. For the time being I just stick my MP3 player in my jacket and don't have to worry about cords.

HeadRoom is a great site for information on headphones. They're also genuinely good guys.
