I love my Triumph textile jacket when it's too warm for the FirstGear 3/4 but it is not waterproof. Rather than carry a separate rain jacket has anybody had any luck with additive types of waterproofers either spray or wash in?
IThe jacket kept me Ok dry for the first hour of rain but after that started to just soak through gradually. I assume it was capillary action and wicking so a different coating on the outside might make it work.
Appreciate any insights.

I would suggest the NIKWAX range of products.
They have wash-in and spray-on products as well as waterproofers for gloves and boots.

You should be able to get it through your local dealer or any number of online stores.

I dont think youll find any product to make a textile jacket water proof if it dosen't have a Gortex type layer. You might try heavy duty Scotch Guard.

I`ve found my joe rocket dry tec liner can be worn under just about any jacket ,and keeps me dry,and can be worn as a wind breaker at your destination.
I`ve tried scotchgaurd as well, with some success,I think it eventually "washes off" in the rain
