I am interested in price information regarding good quality enclosed motorcycle towing trailers. All information is wanted, and specifically, 'Has anyone purchased or PRICED the Ironhorse trailers'? (USA only I assume).

www.ironhorsetrailers.com

Thanks in advance--

MS Kid

I don't have any information on enclosed trailers, so this may be an entirely useless post, buuuut...

Having a trailer that's not enclosed has some real benefits - doesn't eat gas mileage as bad, and you don't usually need to worry about lights (at least here in CT) b/c you can still see the lights on your car...

Of course, enclosed trailers are nice. I get by borrowing a friend's trailer that has two wheel chocks, plenty of tiedown points, and a big plastic toolbox bolted to the front.

IMHO, if you are going to invest 15K on a motorcycle, you'll need at least 4 wheels on the ground when you haul it. I had a single axle enclosed trailer until a couple
of years ago I saw a wreck on I-85 coming out of Atlanta. The poor guy had lost a tire, and the trailer axle caught when he was pulling off the road. So he started that day with a 25K Harley, and ended that day with 5K worth of Harley Parts.

The next day I traded my single axle in for a new double axle motorcycle trailer. I use it specifically in June, when we head down to Hiawassee, Georgia to go to British in the Blue Ridge. I haul the beer, the tents, the tools and chairs so that my mates don't have to.

It's a little expensive but it also stores the dirt bikes. I have a 7X14 enclosed trailer, it weighs 2300 pounds empty, but I can go to 7000 pounds if nessecary. Price new was $5000. Single axle was $2200.

Around here you can get a 5x8 enclosed with tailgate ramp/door for around $1800--nice trailer but bigger than I want to pull with my Matrix!

H&H trailers is the best-built brand I've seen.

We have a 2-wheel 12' cargo trailer that hauls our Americas very nicely when needed (picking them up from the dealer on January 3). We also have an H&H flatbed to haul the Bobcat tractor.

hhtrailer.com, I believe.
