Talked with another Triumph rider yesterday, who is somewhat disappointed with the wear that has occurred on hid pipes' coating. Anyone with similar experience? I had always figured ceramic coating would be more durable than the stock coating.

If you accidentally melt something on the ceramic coating, the finish is history. That much I do know from bad experience.

They do have a few benefits others than looking good though. They run much cooler and cool-down in relatively no time at all.
