Searched through the forum and really couldn't find any recent threads on what I'm looking for.

I ride with an open face 3/4 helmet with a face shield. What I'm looking for is a set of Bluetooth Helmet Speakers that will fit into the ear "sockets" of the helmet.

Not interested in communication as I don't like the look of the mic sticking out in.

All I want to do is listen to music and hear if a call is coming in and if I need to pull over take the call (really return the call).

Don't want ear buds as in Florida it is illegal to ride/drive with them. Statute says speakers are find. The only Bluetooth Speakers I can find have some sort of "ridged" head band (either over the head or behind the ear/neck. These really don't work as I think the would be uncomfortable and would have to be put on before the helmet then the helmet put on and situated.

SURELY someone makes a set of Bluetooth Speakers that can be mounted into the ear recesses and wired up through the padding with maybe the receiver located at the back of the helmet.

ANY Help would be appreciated!! I'm fairly mechanically inclined so if there is something out there that will work with modification chime in.

My Scalarider mounts to the side of the helmet and their speakers are small enough to fit almost anywhere. I had them on the notoriously hard to fit Shoei RF1000, which had NO pockets. You'd get the one with the boom mic as opposed to wired and it should fit in your lid no problems.

You being in mid Florida you should be either in or close to the Tampa area, if you'd like you can see my setup, while all my helmets are full faced it makes very little difference in ease of installation.

Looked at the Scalarider. Don't want anything with a mic (boom or otherwise). All I want is a set of Bluetooth Speakers to hear music, when I'm getting an incoming call, and my nav.

Thanks for the reply though. I may end up having to suck it up and getting the Scalarider (and maybe I can un-attach then mic).

Uclear makes a blue tooth set with no mic and it has speakers that fit to the helmet. I am going to get one of there systems at first chance. They get great reviews and the lack of boom mic makes them very nice.180 bucks I think.

One good thing about having the mic is that when you pull over to answer the call you won't have to remove the helmet, make the call, end it and keep on riding.

I need to clarify. The uclear has mics but they do not stick out the front of the helmet.they work from vibration through the jawbone so I understand.

The Uclear looks very interesting. That would work. If you get one do a review on it. I'd be interested to know the music sound quality and loudness and also if the mic works as advertised before I settle on it.

Buy a Sena SMH10. Buy the boomless mic base. Don't plug in or install mic. Profit.

Or, Buy the Sena SMH5-02 for $96 and cut off the mic wire. There is no boom mic to deal with on this version.

I've got the SMH10 with the non-boom mic base. Its perfect for music with the giant volume knob, you can skip tracks, answer or reject calls by tapping it, and you can voice dial WHILE RIDING (phone button on headset, "Call [NAME]"). Or while stopped, whatever. Thought about the SMH5 but I like the crazy long battery life the 10 gets.
