NP. Unfortunately REI doesn't sell the Drift cameras yet. The only other that they sell is the Delkin Wingman, which doesn't look particularly great, although it may be a bang for the buck option?

But when I purchased the Contour ones, they had several Contour and GoPro models. Some older and some of those sold on Saturday since the older ones were only like maybe $50 even on Saturday. But if you are looking for a newer model Contour or Go Pro and they have them on Saturday, be there when they open on Sunday.

It definitely works best if you aren't in a big hurry for one. Obviously May's sales dates are done as they would have been the 26th and 27th. Next garage sale days will be June 30 and July 1, and of course you may, or may not get lucky. At the sale I purchased mine, there were a few, but I believe only one of the Contour+ units. 2 or 3 of the Contour GPS units though.

The other thing is that it is for Members Only. Membership is only $20 lifetime if you aren't already a member. I gotten that back several times over through the dividend checks you get on purchases, and I am not a frequent shopper.

If you want a reminder of the garage sale dates and other sales and classes, sign up for the gear mail notices here, and they even send you a 15% coupon off a regularly priced REI Branded item, just for signing up.

Drift is getting real popular downunder and has the wireless remote of course as standard. Something the GoPro has only just released as an extra!

I got a gopro 1080 from REI during one of their member sales for $100. The tag said it was returned because the person couldnt get the software to work with their computer....I laughed and bought it immediately. So check out a member sale and you may get lucky!

Whilst I initially thought GoPro was large and clunky, I have since revised my opinion as the quality of the film and sound is exceptional. Its easy to use and there are a ton of accessories. Expensive but worth to cost thus far. I have the Gopro 2.

I really like my Drift, although I mount it on the bike not my helmet. The remote allows some interesting mounting options.

I've been looking at the Gopro and the Drift, I like the drift more so just for the sake of it looks smaller and less obvious. They both use micro SD cards for memory. I know it depends on what size memory card you get but how many hours of record time is everybody getting?

My drift uses standard SD cards, not micro. I have a 16 Gb card and it should hold about 7 + hours (depends on 720 vs 1080).
