Washing leather suits

Alright, so I just bought a used suit (1 piece motogp kangaroo leather) and it feels really dirty to wear bc it's hot as hell here and the guy before me has had it for 2 years without washing it, so I really want to wash it before I wear it, however, I'm not exactly sure how to go about this.

Some ppl say take it to the dry cleaners, others say take a shower in your suit and scrub it with soap and let it air dry, others say put it in the washing machine and wash it as if it's a regular load of laundry, then take it out and air dry and right before it's dried (while still damp), you should rub some hand lotion into it.

Anyways, I was wondering if there's any validity to the latter 2 options as it'd be a lot cheaper and less time consuming!

Anyways, I'm not sure what the policy is regarding links to other biker forums, but this is where I got the info from: http://www.1000rr.net/forums/showthread.php?t=30135

I can't help with personal experience, I generally haven't had to worry about cleaning my leathers because I wear a base layer and their lining can be removed for washing. However, a quick search turned up this link:

http://www.esportbike.com/forums/sho....php?p=1018156

which discusses several cleaning methods and products.

Hand scrub any really filthy areas first, then Wash with "Woolite" (very gentle soap) on a very gentle cycle in the washing machine.

Take out and smooth and stretch back to the original shape, and hang gently to naturally dry. DON'T TUMBLE DRY!

As soon as it is dry, you can use a mild hand lotion, or better yet, leather conditioner, to retain the leathers moisture, suppleness and elasticity.

Leather is like your skin, keep it clean with soap and rinse well, dry, then apply lotion just the same as you would on your own skin.
