Intercom and gps

I am thinking of installing a Autocom system to my Trophy. Have any of you used one of these systems and what do you think of it?

I am also about to buy a Zumo 550 gps unit, but noticed that there is a new model out soon (zumo 660). Is there anything worth having in the new unit? It also seems to be about the same price as the 550

Any help on these items would be a great help.

Thanks

Shepp,

I have the zumo 550 and really like it, check out the differences and see if they matter to you. I really like the external buttons on the 550 since doing the touch screen can be a pain with gloves on. But I like the thinner body and wider screen of the 660. But if I was to do it over I would get the 550.

For the autocom, all I can say is they are very good. But because they use proprietary cords I bought the Starcom1 advance and could not be happier. Uses normal cords 3.5mm for sound and phone and ps/2 cables for extension cables. Only thing weird is the microphone cable from the Zumo which is a 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable.

Setup was really easy and function has been flawless. I have talked to people at triple digit speeds and most of them don't know I am on the bike.

Have the full Autocom system on my BMW K1200S with a Kenwood VHR radio. Expensive but works well at over a mile in non-mountainous area. Has saved my butt a few times when me and my friends have gotten split up over mixed exits on etc
