Wires off Alternator Question

The two wires that exit the left side of the engine case from the alternator are both Green-Yellow on my 1971 TR6R. The wiring diagram shows one wire should be Green-Yellow and the other White-Green. I am installing a new wire loom with Podtronics and Boyer set up. I did not notice that both wires were the same off the alternator and now want to know if these wires are interchangeable?

If it does not matter then I don't have to remove the case cover.

Anyone know the answer?

Thanks

Home made harness

I'm delighted that I have been able to get my old original melted and burned wiring harness to work perfectly. As poor as the overall condition of this wiring is I expect it will develop more problems and it needs to be replaced. A new harness is very available but it won't be cheap. The prices I have seen are between $150 and $250 depending on construction (http://www.triumphrat.net/#). It appears that British Wiring can provide bulk wire in the proper colour to duplicate an original harness. If my calculations are correct all the wire and connectors needed should cost less than $70. Since the original harness is here to provide a pattern I'd like to try building my own.

Is there something I'm overlooking that makes this a bad idea?

OOPS! In preparation for my Boyer install I mounted 2 new 6 volt coils and I did not mark all of the wires that I pulled off of the old Lucas coils. I've got 2 connectors with 2 light brown wires (probably white in color 43 years ago) each attached that have continuity to the ignition switch but there is a single white mystery wire. It does not go to the headlight bucket. In the picture it is the middle wire. Help please!

Hi, I've been lurking around for a little bit and I finally registered. I just picked up a '67 rigid basket case. I'm still trying to figure out what engine I have. The internet tells me its a '67 twin, either a 350 or 500. Anybody know how I can tell? I'll be asking this in the proper forum in a minute...

Anyway, I have a feeling I'll be posting plenty of questions in the near future. Thanks everybody.

Chain and sprocket life?

How often should a T140's chain and sprockets be replaced? It looks easy enough to change the sprocket at the rear wheel, but what about the smaller one at the gearbox end? What's involved in changing that? It doesn't look easy!

What is a good way to minimise chain / sproket wear? I know from bicycle experience that frequent chain replacement preserves sprocket life, but how often on a Bonnie should 'frequent' be?
