Which map? (98 T595) Details inside.

Bike has a "modified" airbox (looks broken, has a hole in it, snorkels removed), K&N filter, wunoff undertail exhaust, vin ending in 060323, build date 11/97.

Previous owner claimed it had "upgraded cams" which I suspect the original owner told him it had the update exhaust cam as it appears to have new vacuum lines and the starter even looks newish compared to the oily, grimy, patina of the rest of the block (fingers crossed for that one eh?).

If I'm reading the tune list correctly and the PO/OO is full of excrement and it's all original I should be running 9860Map. And if it does have the updated cam maybe 9863Map?

Bike does have a cam sensor, that was connected when I started pulling things apart, and the rear speed sensor. I would prefer to remove anything the bike doesn't need and/or wont use.

I'll be cracking the valve cover to do a valve check, are there any markings on the exhaust cam I can look for to determine if it does have the updated cam?

Bump

Whats the effect of pod filters on the triple? Since my airbox isn't entirely intact I'm considering eliminating it to free up space under the tank. I'm not really concerned with performance, the bike as way more than I need as it is. I just don't want to damage it or make it run poorly.

IMHO using a properly fitted and functioning airbox is better and most likely necessary for correct tuning, i'm currently running the 9860 map as the 9863 that it had when i got made it run like crap.

you can tune out an airbox and have it run "good" Seeing as theres more power in this bike than I'll need for years I'm not concerned about the loss. And I like "custom"

If/when I go for a 1050 conversion I may go back to an airbox.

edit: I appreciate the thread bump tho

And I may be changing my exhaust now it would seem... since I found a killer deal on an carbon/ti akrapovic silencer. I have to stopy buying **** for this bike or I won't have enough time to finish it this winter.
