extended swing arm?

i have been noticing more and more stretched busas, ZX14s and all types of other stretched Japanese bikes. The look has caught my attention and was wondering if anyone has ever seen a stretched 675? I like the look and wanted to stretch my 675 but cant find a kit and im not skilled enough in fabrication to fab a whole new swing arm or even a simple set of extenders myself. anyone have any ideas?

Do you enjoy riding your bike? Or would you rather have a show piece that you take to bike nights and parking lots to just sit around and look pretty?

Changing the suspension geometry will affect handling, is that worth a unique look?

In my opinnion I like mine just the way it is. A kick-ass tourquey bike that loves to be flicked around in the corners.

Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and thank you for sharing yours, though it did not assist me in my inquiry. I am aware that it changes the suspension geometry and it my not flick as well around corners, but I am also aware that it also has some performance gains by stretching the back tire out. And, yes, it is mainly a look thing and yes I am aware that I will never be the fastest in the world on a bike. With that being said, I wouldn't mind sacrificing a few miles and hour around a corner for a look that I like. Its kinda the same situation with placing larger wheels on a vehicle, they may sacrifice in performance, but they have the look they want.

Been ages since posting here...
To the point, I dont believe there are any swingarm kits made for this bike, unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perspective) a swingarm for this bike will likely have to be a custom afair.

It goes without saying that the makers of extended swingarm kits (or even swingarm extensions) started it for drag racing applications and dont seem to believe that anyone other than the Japanese make sportbikes. (or is it simply where the $$$ are to be made)

The Daytona strikes me as a particularly sensitive bike when it comes to steering and suspension geometry tho and an improperly set up bike can go from feeling sublime to feeling like riding in mud very easily which can be dangerous.

Would be curious to see a 2-4" lower w/ +6" over arm and a 240 wheel/tire just for ****s and giggles tho. I know a guy with a Suzuki K6 with a +4" over and 240 tire kit and tossing it from side to side and draggin knee not a problem for him at all.

I suspect you already know this but dont look for folks with this bike to lend any support or encouragement on suggesting something like this being done on this bike..I'm just an easy going guy that agrees that I've seen more than a few stretched and lowered bikes and think they look pretty fekkin cool even if they can no longer be employed in any challenging manner on a track where over 90% of bikes are sold never see anyhow.

That's kinda what I was suspecting on the matter. Thank you very much for your help on the matter. I never had any plans for hitting the track with mine but I really did like the look and agree with ya. I would love to see a daytona with a 6" over and 240 rear tire. I think with the daytonas lines, it would look freakin killer, given the right look from the custom swing arm of course. :-)

okie...i got another swingarm off of an 07 675 if u might be interested in tinkering around with it instead of risking the chance of making a boo boo. let me know. i think ur right though. even though im more of a track and haul a** guy, this would be a killer mod for the 75. good luck and follow the vision

To each his own. The daytona is not a wheelie monster by any means so is not in need of an extended swingarm, but if I was going to do it, I would take one off a gixxer, ninja, cbr, and fab to fit.
