Power loss between 4 and 6k rpm.

Greetings,
I own an '07 675 Daytona. Someone backed into the left side of the bike knocking it over on to the right side. When I picked it up there was very little visible damage to the bike. Just a few scratches. It started on the second try and it idled and rev'd fine. The issue occurs when I am accelerating b'twn 4 & 6k rpm. The bike hesitates and pops in this range, then out of nowhere it takes off. It does not matter what gear I am in. I think it may have something to do with the throttle (since that bar-end is pretty scratched up). There were/are not visible fluid leaks anywhere. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Making a slightly-educated guess, that sounds like a sensor may have been damaged. Since it's so specific I'm willing to bet it's electronic-related, at any rate... seems like physical damage to the throttle assembly would show up regardless of where the tube is turned. Of course, that and a $1.00 will buy you a cup of coffee at... someplace they've got coffee for $1.00.

Good luck! I'm sure others will be along with vast amounts more technical expertise than I to help you out very soon.

Peace

Dave

Sounds more like an exup valve that is out of adjustment. Swing it by the dealershp and have them give it a look. It should still be under warranty.

Exactly what I was thinking, or possibly sticking binding cable, the fairing may be covering up something you cant see. Either way have it looked at.
