Gear Indicator Acting Goofy

Anyone else having problems with their gear indicator? I've got 900 miles on my '08 675 and the gear indicator sensor is being goofy. It hops around between displaying what gear I'm in. Click down from N and it jumps back and forth between 1st and 2nd until you tap the shifter a few times or it will just display the wrong gear. It's not really a problem, just annoying. I already went by the dealer and they said it would take a few days to warranty it out. I'm just curious if anyone else is having this problem.

Yep, mine has been like that for two years. It isn't an issue I care a whole lot about.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

I've been having the same issue. You can get the sensor on bikebandit.com for $64. They say to DIY isn't to hard if you don't have a nearby dealer, such is my case.

My bike does it also. When I finally get annoyed enough, I'll call the shop. I'm still under warranty.

Mines been acting the same. Sometimes I've even been in 5th gear and it read that I was in 6th. Usually it corrects itself around 3rd or 4th gear. Mine is in the shop right now. The dealership tried fixing it once but was unsuccessful.

Hi All,

You seem to be the only ones posting about this problem so I've signed in from sunny Sydney Australia to see if anyone's found the fix?

My Street Triple's just developed the same issue after 6 months.

Have a great weekend,

Tak
