It's way too much fun... You should get out there and give it a go! The track is the best place to learn!

Looking good, Jeff! Mid-Ohio is a track I sure would like to ride one of these days, since I remember it well from watching races there as a kid in the late '60s and early '70s.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

Will,
It rapidly became my favorite track. It is a very physically demanding track, but it really rewards riding the proper line. It was obviously designed by a true racer. All of the off camber, blind apex and double apex stuff is really fun. It's easy to pick off riders who aren't running the proper line in several places.
It's so much fun to out brake guys on liter bikes going into the 90 degree right hander at the end of the back straight and then pull away from them in the back sections of the track and never see them again. You know those guys have to be going nuts getting whipped by a little 675...
You should plan a summer trip next year... Mid Ohio, Barber, Putnam and Gratten...
I can provide you with a room!
Jeff

I don't know if I can pull it off next summer, but one of these days. The kid goes off to college next fall, assuming he gets his applications in. In about four and a half years, assuming no tuition caused bankruptsy problems, I might make it out. My parents still live in Columbus, so I don't have too many excuses except for small ones like time and money.

Hopefully, in 4 - 1/2 years I'll still be able to swing a leg over a bike and I won't be dealing with a track addiction induced bankruptcy and will be able to join you...
