08 Moto GP Phillip Island Australia

Well folks, I had a fantastic time at the GP crewing for the Motorworks Triumph 675 Daytonas in the Supersport Class. Chris Panayi and Lee Foran did a terrific job riding, and it was great to see a lone 675 Daytona in a sea of R6's, CBR's and ZX6's in the final race of the weekend. For anyone who was in attendance, they would have noticed that the Triumph Daytonas drew a huge amount of interest on the track and in the pits.
I was very disappointed with the lack of Triumph Factory attendance at the Moto GP event, as there is clearly great public interest in these bikes and brand. (Hopefully Triumph management will read this post and feel a little embarrassed)
Here are some pictures of the weekend. Chris had a heavy crash on the Friday mornings race, and all our spares plus bits off the spare bike got him racing again. We aren't a wealthy bunch, so the bike looked a bit second hand by Sundays race but Chris placed 21st overall.
Well done Chris.

I was at the MotoGP race at Indianapolis, Indianna in the US. Triumph was not there either. They are really missing the boat by not being at events like that - or they are embarassed they are not in factory racing. Either way, they need to start showing up if they want to move the Triumph brand to the next level
