Second set of rims

I was looking at getting a second set of rims but im not sure if i want to get the OEM ones or this set from British Customs
http://www.british-customs.com/trium...1-pr-1334.html

The British Customs weigh
Font 8lbs
Rear 13.8lbs
And are forged

Anyone know the weight of the OEM wheels? I cant seem to find it anywhere.

Forged aluminum is about 300% stronger than cast (OEM).
I don't know how much the stock rims weigh, but forged is usually about 150% lighter as well.
Plus they look better :P
With casting they melt down the aluminum and pour/inject into a mold.
Forging they heat the aluminum and use thousands and thousands of pounds of force to forge the shape. So because the material is never heated enough to become molten the chemical make up/integrity is much more pure and strong, with far less chance of imperfections. Another thing is under extreme stress (i.e. pothole at 100mph) cast has a greater chance of cracking rather then bending then forged.

If you can afford it, I say go with the forged.

Worth taking a look!

Euromoto in Arizona has Marchesini wheels for the Daytona 675. These are the same rims that Ducati uses on the 848 and 1098.

Also, REV Cycle uses BST carbon fibre street wheels for reduced unsprung weight on their race preped 675. These bikes are Hand assembled by Jeff Bloor and Chris McDermott

Expensive but very sweet!
