Hello from the newbie!
Just wanted to say 'hi' to everyone here! I am now the proud owner of a 2006 D675 in Scorched Yellow. I've had her for a little over 2 months now and she and I are getting along nicely thus far. She's my first motorcycle (I expect to be lectured by TripleThreat and Brooksie later... ) and we're taking it easy and getting to know one another nice and slow.
Since I'm new to this, I am always open to tips and advice anyone might have. If there's anyone out there from the Pacific NW (Seattle to Vancouver) let me know if you're planning a ride.
Looking forward to getting to know you guys!
-DChick

I took a stone through the radiator on my Gixxer at the track (it has been one problem after another), so I made a fine radiator guard out of about $5 worth of hardware cloth, bug screen, and safety wire. It is a think of beauty, just like the rest of the bike!
I am in Seattle, but I don't get out much except to the track. There are a bunch of us from around here. Check out the Cycle Barn Rat Pack. They go on regular rides and are really good about making sure they don't leave anybody behind. You already bought your bike, so no lectures, just a demand for pictures of it.

I looked up the Cycle Barn RAT and will def plan on making my way down there in the near future. Thanks for the info!
Pics will come as soon as the next few weeks of work-from-hell are over. As of right now my travels consist of going to and from work and that's about it. Gr. :

Welcome to the board DChick, another Pacific NW'er here, I second Will's comments on the Cycle Barn Rat pack, we had a great 3day ride to southern Idaho, & Montana to ride Lolo pass earlier this month great group to ride with!
Get intouch with Dave Preston fanatic@cyclebarn.com he's the pack leader and you'll get regular email updates on weekend rides and such.
Perhaps I'll see you out there sometime.

daytonachick,
Welcome to the 675 family...
No lecture, just a request... Take your time, ride safe and wear your gear. Once you get familiar with her, take her to the track and develop your skill and learn the limits. We'd just like to make sure that your relationship with your new bike and with those of us on this forum are long lasting and enjoyable.
Congratulations on the new bike. I'm sure you will love it like the rest of us.

You got it! That exactly what I've been doing...I'm not fooling myself by thinking I got a bike that lacks power. I am, however, old enough to know I'm not invincible *anymore* and have (and will continue) to take it easy.

Hey Rob,
You gotta get one of the Radguard radiator protectors. I went 9 months without one, luckily no holes, but best buy ever now. Looks good too.
