Most likely, you have one of three issues.
1. Your exup valve in the exhaust is out of adjustment. A simple cable adjustment by the dealer is all that will be necessary to repair this. This is a pretty common issue.
2. You have a vacuum leak somewhere, most likely under the tank.
3. Your battery is low. These bikes are notoriously sensitive to voltage issues and a low battery can cause some really weird things to happen.
I would just run it by the dealership and ask them to check it out for you. If you just bought it new, they should hop right on fixing it for you. if you bought it used, you will probably have to make an appointment with the service department.
Good luck sorting it out and congratulation on getting your new bike.
Jeff
