Best type of stand for 675?
I just got a Daytona 675 and am wondering what type of stand to get for doing my own maintenance work and winter storage. I've seen both front and rear type stands as well as lifts.

I have the Pit Bull Forward Facing Handle model for the rear and use stand bobbins. I also have the Pit Bull New Front model for the front. High Quality and rock solid. THey are a little more expensive than some, but when a $9,000 bike falls on the floor, a few more bucks on a quality stand seems like small change...
You can't go wrong with Pit Bull...

Standard or spooled
Thanks for the input Triplethreat.
Is the Daytona 675 compatible with the standard or spooled forward handle rear? What is the difference between spooled and standard? Are stand bobbins required for both the front and rear to use pit bull stands?

Anything with a spool attachment should work well.

Because of the swingarm's profile, I wouldn't trust any stand without the use spools.

+1 - Definately get one for spools and then get a set of spools - You can get them right from Pit Bull.
The front stand doesn't require any additions to the bike. It uses a pin that goes into the bottom of the steering head (Center of the bottom Triple Tree)
Also, Never, ever put a bike up on the front stand unless it is up on a rear stand or it will fall over...

As I recall, the pin for a Vortex front stand is a #5 pin. It is the same pin for a 2004 GSXR 600, so you can use the same information to translate into other stands like Pit Bull or Power Stands. I see them all at the track, so you know they work well enough.

Do you have to remove the horn to use the pitbull newfront stand? If so then how?

No, you don't have to remove the horn. It is easy enough to do if you want to, though. I don't recall the bolt size, but it is held on with a single bolt and the electrical connection plugs in.
