Does anyone have or has anyone heard of people putting riser bars on their Daytona 675? Would it only slightly change the riding position or would there be a significant difference? I'll be recieving my Daytona soon and have yet to ride it. I plan on using it around town this summer until I get comfortable enough to give track riding a try.

Yes, people put risers on them. If you are going to take it to the track, you might consider leaving it alone for a while to see if you adapt. The low bars are good for the track.

Thanks for the input Will. I did a little research and think I'll get the Cycle Cat TBR2, multi adjustable bar mounting system. I thought about getting a pair of Heli Bars but they're not adjustable.

Heli's are great. I don't think you'd have performance issues with them.

I bought a sports bike because of the riding position!
Try supporting your weight with your legs and back. Practice by lifting your hands a couple of inches off the bar while you are riding. It soon becomes second nature.

Good point. It takes all the tension out of your upper body. I didn't mind the stock bar position, either. Just do a lot of riding in town and it does help. Either way, the bike needs very little, if any, modification for most riders. Just take getting used to if you're coming from a non-sporting bike.

Thanks for all the input guys. When I posted this thread I didn't have my 08 Daytona SE yet and was a little worried about the riding position because I kept on reading reviews about how uncomfortable it was. I got my bike on May 14 and was suprised how quickly I felt at ease and comfortable on the machine (pulling out of the dealership was my first time on a true sports bike). It's all about easing your weight off your wrist's by using your stonger core and leg muscles and finding a relaxed position as possible.

My experience with the cycle cats was positive until a minor lowside at the track - They are not durable at all. I've gone with Woodcraft clipons on both my street bike and my track bike and am very happy with them and their durability.
