Selling the 955i for a 675.....
Well, its official, the Daytona 675 is by far- the single best sport bike I have ever had the priveledge to ride.....and I've ridden or raced a ton of them....and now I want one of these! I just need to sell my beloved 2003 955i to get it!

A couple questions for you 675 owners....

First, any defects/bugs to be aware of? Second, What did you all pay for yours? The one I have my eye on is a 2007 demo with a whopping 68 miles on the odometer. I think I can get it around $7900.00 out the door.....decent price?

BTW, I'm getting rid of a Tornado Red 955i, and will be replacing it with a Tornado Red 675! No offense to the yellow owners out there, but that color looks as though someone urinated on a beautiful motorcycle, then quickly clear coated it! yuck! lol

Anywho, any tips would be appreciated as I turn to the dark side of 675 ownership! (my 955i buddies don't know what they're missing!)

Cheers,

Ski

Nothing much to know except take it to the track and really see what it can do. You may not like scorched yellow, but it is faster than red. It is a simple truth.

If you go touring at all, the 675 will be a little light in the windy stuff. Even lighter than a 955 (long story). I miss the overwhelming freight train of torque the 955 produces in comparison to the 675. But the 675 is so smooth and fast in corners it is a joy to ride. The corner speed on the 675 is freaky in comparison. No techical issues have been encountered here. Just take your time and break that high strung motor in correctly.

Ahhh, multiple bike syndrome! If you don't have multiple bikes, it can cause personality disorders.

955i got blown off the highway with me on it last fall. Albiet it was a micro burst wind of over 50 mph crosswind. That's why I don't have three bikes. The 675 seems even more prone to flying away in even less gusty weather. Nothing like it in the tight stuff though.

Owner of a 2006 675...and here are things I've encountered...(but I believe my bike officially had the worst of all problems)

FIRST, THE WORST...I had an electrical gremlin that had the dealer scratching there heads for a couple of MONTHS. Turns out it was an exposed wire where it was a wire leading to the purge valve. What happened was when the bike was weighted, it brought this wire low enough to rub on the front sprocket. After the dealership found this problem, they checked all other 675s and noticed that my bike was the only one with this problem (I guess my bike was built on either a Friday or Monday)

SECOND...WATCH you battery!!! I blew fuses and it was all because of a dead battery. All because I didn't run my bike for 2 weeks. The battery is crap for our bikes considering all the electronics on there. Be sure you have a battery tender and have it hooked up to it when you're not running it.

THIRD...(and this is something that can kill you if it happens at the wrong time). Make sure that the bolt holding on the steering damper is tight. There have been cases of the bolt being loose and not being able to turn the bike all the way to due to the bold hitting the suspension brace. Add this to your "pre-ride" check list

FOURTH...but I think it pertains to 2006 and early 2007s...there was a recall sent out on our bikes. It turns out the emergency killswitch would fry the ECU. You can easily check if your bike is under recall status by entering the VIN number on the Triumph Website.

FIFTH (not really a problem but more of a nuisance). The exhaust head hitting your right leg. Make sure to always wear pants.

7900 a decent price....I would think so

P.S....screw yellow....and screw red...GRAPHITE is the FASTEST
