675 sqeaks

Hi, had my 675 for 18mths, and it recently started to sqeak when the revs pass over 4500rpm, both up and down.
Anyone had a similar issue, and found a fix?

Cheers
Rich

It's most certain the EXUP-valve in the exhaust (after the cat) that is making those noices. At those RPM - it is opening. Some people have tried to lubricate the valve, but as it cant be opened, i doubt itīll last for long...

I have the same squeek and I'm not worried about it.

Quite possibly also the intake flapper valve. Many people have had squeeks coming from this valve also.

Of course, +1 to that. I forgot about the intake flapper as it is always open if You are using a map for a slip-on. With a OEM-bike the intake flapper open/close exactly at 4 500 RPM, so it could very well be this valve.

However - it is quite easy to check: If the squeek comes from the front of the bike, it is probably the intake flapper and it can be lubricated. If it is coming from the right lower parts of the bike, it might be the exhaust valve.

Good luck Rich!
