Exhaust valve options

I recently bought a used 675 ( 18 months old )with 1000 miles on it the engine light came on shortly after i bought it and i returned it to the dealer they supposedly fixed and said that the cables on the exhaust valve required adjustment shortly after this the light came on again I've booked it in to be looked at but being fairly handy with the old spanners decided to have a look at the valve and cables , upon examination i found the valve to be seized ,i've freed it up and tryed as best i can to get high temp grease onto the shaft my question is after my warranty runs out what's my best option do I
1 diconnect the cables and leave the valve fully open
2 keep taking it apart,grease it and buy a tuneboy to reset the light
3 change out the exhaust

your thoughts around this probably common problem would be appreciated

You could do any of the above. If you get rid of the valve, you will have to remap the bike, but I am not sure what map you would want to use. I am thinking seriously of replacing the entire assembly with a piece of straight tubing on my bike, because I think the catalyst is burned and causing backpressure problems or the exhaust valve is screwed up in some way. It isn't causing an engine light, but I was down about 10mph at the top end last time I had it on the track.

Sorry guys, know this is an old thread. Just curious because 675 is one of the bikes im looking into buying this summer. You are refering to the exhaust servo thats apart of the manifold piping? Dumb question i know, but all tiny bits of info help.

Yes. It is below the engine within the exhaust system. It is after the header merges into one pipe, and because of its location and the temperatures and pressures it is subject to, it sometimes causes a bit of trouble. It isn't a big deal, and it is straight forward to fix, so it certainly isn't the kind of deal killer problem it sounds like it could be.
