I've done a few 500 mile days on my 675 with the gel seat with no issues at all. Granted, that's not droning on down the highway at 75 MPH, it's riding twsity backroads where you are contstntly shifting your weight from side to side.

This is not a long distance touring bike and if that's what you intend to use it for, you'd be better off buying a Sprint ST.

Look at my sig, I already own a Sprint ST

But no, it's not for touring, it's for twisties and the race track. I just noticed the seat was harder then the zx-6r seats and was looking for either an alternative that actually works or if the seats break in

Didn't notice that in you sig... You Sir... Are one lucky man - I'd love to have both in my stable, but for now I'm a single bike man. It gets kind of old doing the track plastics dance whenever I want to switch back and forth between street and track trim. Some day... Some day...

Good luck with the new purchase. You will love the 675 for hitting the twisties...

I've actually been holding off on buying the 675 because it wasn't offered in Blue... I don't have that excuse anymore I'm looking to get it early to mid summer, by then I should have other things paid off and I'll be ready to go with another loan :-) heh

My ultimate goal though is to also get my hands on a wrecked 675 and rebuild it into a dedicated track bike and keep the blue 675 as a fun street bike and the Sprint as a commute and long distance bike. :-D Some day... some day... :-)

A friend's 675 was stolen and recovered recently, and it might be available out here. I don't really have the cash, but I couldn't agree more about the plastic and wheel dance every track day, not to mention the oil change, etc.

Yea, that's something I hope never happens to my bike. Can't imagine the condition a recovered bike would be in after it was stolen. Especially if it went for a joy ride. I know when I get my bike, I plan to have LoJack put on it just for a little extra security in hopes for a quick recovery.

Yea, I hated doing the strip down on my Sprint when I took it to the track, that's why I want a dedicated track bike instead.

Any joyride by a thief couldn't be more abusive than my friend's riding style anyway!

So, I would have no problem buying it if it is inexpensive enough. Bikes for track duty, I guarantee will be tossed into the bushes at least once someday!

yea, i intend to strip down any dedicated track bike and rebuild it anyways so as long as it's in decent shape, then it's good. I haven't had much luck really finding a good salvaged bike yet though. But I'm keeping my eyes open, that's for sure.
