Need to know mileage

A friend and I and taking a trip to Colorado end of this month to ride in the rockies. Friend is riding a 675 and I am planning the trip and need to know approximate average mileage the Daytona 675 will get averaging 75-80 mph. I need this info to plan fuel stops, I will be on a Kawi C14 and most likely will have a bit more range then the Daytona. Appreciate any and all input.

Thanks,
Scott

Just remember it is in Imperial gallons, so 50 MPG on the clocks means 40 MPG in the United States. At least that's how it works on my bike. I haven't bothered to see if there is some way to change the readout.

Sssshhhhh

Don't tell my wife. I've been using the fantastic mpg as an excuse for taking the bike out.

Seriously, that would explain a bit. The best I could get from my 2002 GSX750R was 38mpg. The Daytona has been showing 55+ averages. It had me thinking that Triumph had some efficiency secrets they leveraged...

BTW// 1 US gallon = 0.832673844 Imperial gallons

Problem is friend has done not significant riding to no what average would be. He has used this particular bike for commuting and yes he does 100 mph every where he goes.

But, from your post above it would seem that the bike is capable of getting 45 mpg if rode accordingly. I was hoping for at least 38 mpg which would allow for the fuel stops I have planned so far (remember we will be on the great slab averaging 70+ mph most of the trip). 4.6 gallon tank average of 38 mpg would be an effective range of 170 + miles. This sound about right to you guys who have taken a significant trip on your Daytona?

You friend should average around 38-42 MPG. The fuel light on the 675 will pop on with 1 gallon left in the tank. At that point, he'll have to guess what kind of mileage is left in the bike based on current riding conditions and speed.

Excellent, that is what I needed to know. I will schedule fuel stops at distances no more than 150 miles.

Thanks four all of your input.
