675 check engine light.....help!!!!

well i layed my bike down a few weeks ago and the right frame slider ended up bending in a cracking my cylinder head and cam cover....so i pulled the motor and replaced the head and cam cover, and the whole works....i put it back in the bike, and it cranked and runs fine,no leaks, but not perfect it sputters a little bit and sometimes shuts off after you rev it up..... but the CHECK ENGINE light is on, so i was thinking that maybe it is in some fail safe mode with that light on....how can i turn it off and reset it with out the triumph diagnostic tool?... :???:

hey man. you need the tool. bite the bullet and go to a reputable triumph dealer and pay them to check out your bike. I'm a mechanic at a duc/tri/apr/ktm/polaris/vespa shop and specialize on Ducati, Triumph, and KTM. I just bought a 675 yesterday as my new racebike ... you should get it checked out at the risk of messing up the new parts. if it's just an error, it shouldn't take them more than 15 minutes - but you should make sure.

If everything is fine, it will turn itself off after three heat cycles. Considering what your bike has been through, I would probably get it checked out.
