First off, I am in love with my D675. Hands down, the best motorcycle I have had the pleasure of riding.

Much to my distress, while I was coming back from lunch yesterday, my engine warning light became illuminated, and remained solidly lit. It came on at 318 miles, the temperature was a steady four bars (or so), my speed was around 45-50 mph, and I was neither accelerating nor stopping. Also, I am carefully following the super-happy factory mandated break-in schedule, and taking care not to keep the rpm fixed at a constant rate.

My question is this: Does anyone know if there are preset warning lights built-in for the break-in period? e.g. Bike reaches X point, check engine light comes on to indicate a hurdle passed, and a particular (and unknown as yet to me) service necessary. I've found nothing in the documentation, and obviously, I shall be popping by the shop tomorrow, regardless. (closed today for the holiday)

Thanks, and have a lovely Tuesday.

No, there are no preset check engine light triggers that I am aware of, at least not that turn on because of mileage. There are a number of things that can make the light turn on, most of them fairly trivial. On the off chance that whatever made the light turn on is serious, I would take it to somebody who can read the trouble code and find out what the problem is. Sometimes, if you run out of fuel or disconnect the battery for a while, the light will come on- if this is like past Triumph motorcycles. It doesn't sound like that is what your light is about.

I noticed no change in performance, so yes, I expect (and hope) that it is a trivial issue as well. We'll see- I'll be going by ye olde shoppe today and having them read off the code. (in the meantime, she's not gone anywhere since Monday, which makes me sad)

Does Microsoft write the software for the Triumph computers?

I "rebooted" my Daytona by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, then letting the engine run after reconnection. The computer sorted itself out, and the light has gone off. I think that I shall install a mod on the dash with a Ctrl, an Alt, and a Delete key- it'll make such issues faster to resolve in the future. :-D

Now there is a disturbing thought! If my bike crashed as often as the computer, it wouln't be pretty!
