675 question?

so i bought a minty 2011 675 w/4300 miles from some rich guy who was moving out of country for $6500. the guy i bought it from also had his wifes wrecked 06 675.. the guy ended up talkin me into buying both of them for $7000 so i did.. the problem with the 06 is that the guys wife rear ended a pickup so the whole front end is mangled.. the ignition got completely ripped off the top triple and all the wires got yanked out of the bottom of the ignition.. my question is, will my ignition off my 2011 work on the 06 just so i can see if the motor turns over??

I don't think any of us knows for sure. Better to stay silent sometimes than give wrong information. It's not a question that ever came up before, at least so far as I can remember. Once you figure it out, you will be the local expert. Sorry there's no information about this specific compatibility in our collective wisdom.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

DIDDY... Congrats on the best deal I've heard of in a long time. Wish I could score like that

As far as I know, the ignition barrel should be exactly the same on all years of 675...in fact, I'm 99.9% certain it is, as someone on another site had they're bike vandalised in an attempted theft a while back and they replaced it with an ignition from an older bike...so taken in reverse, I would say yes, a newer ignition will be fine on an older bike.

Great deal BTW...well done!!
