I've been working mention of this bike into conversation everyday with my wife...and the most I've got out of her is a smile...not an outright NO, but no thumbs up, or...where do I sit type confirmations like you lucky blokes.

My main riding buddy and I haven't been able to stop geeking out about this bike ever since word/specs/pics leaked last week. He's a CBR600RR rider, but he's ready to trade his Honda in and buy the new Daytona. And I'm ready to go on a rice and beans diet and spend every spare penny on a Daytona payment. I hope he at least gets a different color...

Thanks to all who attended!

Do you keep one bullet left for yourself, for when it's all over and done?

They must make a naked version of this, look at that frame, 'tis gorgeous. and reading the blurb in the Triumph R.A.T. Mag they have taken time to make the engine look pretty.

They must be planning to race this as well, that is why they didn't go for 750cc. Not sure of the rules so can't really comment but I read something somewhere. Ducati can enter the middle weight arena with a 749 as it is a twin, therefore 675 is OK for a triple. I may be talking out of my arse, it has happened before.

Triumph have said they have no intention of running a team but would expect to see some running with dealer backing.

Engine would have looked much better if it had been all black!

I would expect Jack Lilly in England and Augusta Triumph in Georga to race them, at the very least. They are true hard core enthusiasts. I sure hope others race as well.

Sadly the 675 won't qualify to race in the AMA. Club level is possible depending on their rules and I guess BSS or WSS though I'm not familiar with the wording of their rule book. I'd love to see Val Moto backing a 675 effort. :upthumb:

It's a shame that Triumph won't have an official factory team for the D675, but maybe a factory-backed team is will come about.

As for which series the D675 will be eligible, neither current AMA or WSS rules would allow it. Don't know about BSS rules. But rules can be changed and hopefully they will be for next year.

March is quite a bit of a wait! I'm in the market for a new bike and I want to see & feel both the D675 and the new R6 before I make my mind up.

Somebody early in the thread said Underseat exhaust add complexity and weight? How do you figure? I have had 2 bikes now with underseats, and in no way were they more complex or heavier. In fact, they are better if you want to carry soft bags, keeps the width of the bike down.

If done right, underseat exhaust don't add heat the seat at all and stream line the looks of the bike.

May look japish, but I think they got the styling just right for the target class. The swinger is awesome. Next to the Mille swinger, best one yet on a modern bike. Seat looks to be very comfortable and lots of room to move around on.
