Map for no Cat and no ExUp but w/ O2

Hi guys,

I'm gonna be cutting the cat and exhaust butterfly valve (ExUp) out of my exhaust to lower temperatures (because the Cat absorbs heat), boost power and efficiency, and remove concern of needing the exhaust servo serviced again. I will be keeping the O2 sensor. Does anyone have a good map they recommend for this? I've looked around, but am frankly quote confused by the number of tunes available.

FYI i will be keeping my stock header and servo intact (and my current tune) in case I need to revert (if i sell, etc). I have a tuneboy, but haven't done remapping before. I've only used it to tinker with a check engine light when my servo cables were shot before.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Evan

If you are cutting out the exhaust flapper, you might as well use the map Triumph developed for their Arrow exhaust. It's probably going to be as close to what you need as any.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.

Thumbs up

Cool, thanks for the reply. I saw that tune but wasn't really sure about it. Have people been very happy with it? I guess I only ask because of the number of other tunes out there.

I was hoping to get a K&N at some point on there as well. I'm guessing the Arrow tune is designed for that?

Thanks again. I can't wait to get the Cat and butterfly outta there.

I can't tell you much about it, since I still have the whole cat/valve assembly on my bike. One of these days...

If you're interested, I bought an extra header off ebay that i plan on modding (leaving my original alone), but I also saw a guy/company on ebay who does all the work then sends you the pipe. You send him your current header for a core refund (or keep it if you want the original header for $80). He charged $200 which isnt unreasonable.

Leave the X up valve in the pipe. I cut the cat and x up out of my pip and ran the arrow tune. I went from 106 stock to 99 with a major loss in the midrange. the exhaust valve gives you a good boost in midrange power.
