Have any of you 675 fans seen this? Evidently it is a one-off currently.

To moderator - I put this in the 600 forum by mistake. I can't delete the thread there, but maybe you can. This is where it belongs.

That is not a 1050 in a 675 frame. That is simply a Speed Triple 1050 that has had Daytona 675 bodywork modified and installed around it.

It won't be nearly in the same ballpark as the 675 in terms of handling. The frame is the major difference. The 675 is so much more narrow because of the way the upper frame spars are above the engine, not outside it like the old 955i Daytona and Speed Triples are designed.

Don't think they will ever build a liter Daytona again.

If they ever do build another liter daytona they need to throw away the 1050 motor and start from scratch. The 675 is capable of making as much power as the 1050. the 955 was even able to make more power than the 1050 because it could rev higher than the stroked 1050. For a street fighter hooligan bike the torque of the 1050 is good but doesnt realy fit the bill for a supersport.

There are different reports on what this is according to which internet site report you read. This site reports that it is a Speed Triple motor in a 675 frame:

http://www.tlzone.net/forums/press-r...na-1050-a.html

whereas here it is reported that "Chassis and single-side swingarm is from the Speed Triple".

http://www.fasterandfaster.net/2009/...tona-1050.html

There are plenty of other reports too if you google, "Six Monkeys Triumph".

Granted it certainly looks fatter than the 675 to me. Since I am tall and the 675 is uncomfortable for me, I am hoping for a replacement for the 955i someday (before the ice caps melt), but not in the 675 frame.

it is very obveous that the frame is from a speed triple. The tailsection as well is from a speed triple. if you want a speed triple with fairings buy one and put fairings on it.

Agreed. This is definately NOT a 675 frame. It is absolutely a Speed Triple with a modified 675 plastics. Anybody who thinks this is a 675 frame hasn't spent any time on one.

hahaha, can't not laugh at those photos. I definitely like the idea of Triumph building a big power superbike. Of course I wouldnt buy it if it was in the sp3 frame lol. But pretty cool that some crazy guys actually tried it and pulled it off
