675 to street triple conversion
Ive seen a few of the photos and read some threads on this topic and i think that i want to go with more of an option that keeps the bike more stock looking. I am thinking about getting another top triple clamp, and welding in some plate al. in the cutouts and mounting some standard or flat drag bars that way. The way that i was planning on going from there is where things differ. I want to keep all of the fairings on the bike, just buy a spare upper and cut it down to just above the mirror mounts, following the shape of the stock windscreen. This will provide enough clearance for the bars, keep the stock lights, fairing, and be easily reversible if i want to switch it back. Any thoughts on this? Anyone gone this route before? Also, does anyone have a spare upper (scorched yellow) or a spare upper clamp? know where to get them used?
