Is it possible?

My question is, Is it possible to push start a D675? I heard it was impossible due to the fuel injection. Just curious if anyone has done it. Thanks

I would be very surprised if push starting one would work. The ECU needs a bit of juice to think, and without a battery giving it at least minimal juice, the bike won't know when to fire or how much fuel should be injected. And, without a powered up fuel pump, no fuel would get to the injectors anyway.

It's about the only advantage magneto powered bikes have. They don't need batteries if they are set up properly.

If you have a good battery, it will bump start.

Why would you bump start a bike with a good battery unless it was set up as some kind of superbike with no starter or there was some other really unusual situation?

I assumed he had a dead battery or some other electrical fault which was preventing the battery's power from getting to the wiring harness. If the battery is good, then it will bump start. I have done it when I managed to kill the motor while rolling (don't ask).

Will - I have no idea why one would try to bump start a bike with a perfectly good battery... Only reason I know is that we were training the corner workers for motogp at Indy last year and we tried bump starting my 675, an R1 and a CBR 1000 RR and they all would bump start.

Me, a good battery and a good starter, I'm pushing the button, not the bike...
