I'm working on a Daytona 1200. Need to know what coil the yellow with blue stripe goes on. I believe it is the one for the 2-3 cylinder, but want to make sure. I know that the red wire is on the right side of each coil (while you sit on the bike and look at them), I need to know which coil the yellow wire goes on.
I am not getting any fire to the bike and this is one of my process of eliminations.
Thanks

Facing front:
Left side coil - green wire far left, red wire right cylinders 1 & 4
Right side coil - red wire left, yellow/green wire far right - cylinders 2 & 3.
Let me know if this fixes the problem.

Thanks for the input. Are you sure on the right side coil that the red wire is on the left side and not the right? The red wire is a common circuit and on all my coils the red is always on the right and the multi colored on the left.
I think it might be the coils themselves though. The owner remarked that the bike would sputter and shut off with him. I also suspect the ignition coil, but it has a closed circuit as of now.
Thanks for your help.

Lurch - the wires on my coils are as I stated in my previous email. I made a diagram when I removed them and it has always run just fine. The red is probably common as you say.
Are you sure the plug leads are hooked up correctly?
That is - left side coil, left output goes to #1 and right output goes to #4, right side coil left output goes to #3 and right side output goes to #2.
Obviously if you suspect a coil you can swap sides and try to eliminate the bad one....and also assuming all the gounds are clean and tight.

Yeah the leads are fine.
I would like to know if there is a way to test them. I realize I can put different one's on and try that, I just don't have extra coils to experiment with. My trident uses single out put coils, rahter than dual. I wonder how I could go about checking the signal coming into the coil?
Thanks for all your help.
