I've done a search and haven't seen anything posted recently on tank bags for the Daytona, and there are several newer ones being offered. Anyone have any experience with these - what to get, what not to get? I need to get something, but would like to get it right the first time. Many thanks.

I would say to look at options from Marsee, Held, and Chase Harper. I personally have a Held and really like it.

I have the Triumph sport bag, great bag of high quality. Downside is all the straps to attach it and modifying the side panels to make it fit properly. This wouldn't be an issue but I don't leave the straps on 24-7....John

I was in the same problem and found a great solution. The bag is made by a company called luggage locker in Ohio. Basically there is an attachment for the gas tank which then locks onto a baseplate, about 1 inch above the tank, so nothing actually rests onto the tank. Once the baseplate is on (it is removed easily with a key) you can zip on any number of bags. Do a yahoo search for the Luggage locker and the model I have is the tank locker. and you should find some really good options.

Found it and that's a really slick setup. Thanks for your help. I'd also like to get one of the rear seat bag set ups but the listing of Triumph 955is accomodated end at '02.. I think I'll call the factory just to be sure.

Check out RKA Tank Bags. They offer several models. Their web site has photos of their products on different bikes, very helpful. I have the 16 liter expandable, it fits great and has a low profile. The only negative is the map pocket uses a high gloss plastic cover that creates a lot of glare. Good Luck

I just ordered the Lugage Locker. It's the coolest thing I've ever seen!
Thanks for the tip!

I slap a "Frank Thomas" tank bag on my Daytona 1200 and have no complaints. This puppy expands to the point of making a nice chin rest when the day gets long and the road straightens out.
