Replace 2002 955i front fairing with later model front fairing (2003-2005?)

Is this possible? I love the split look of the later model front fairings and I was wondering if I could just swap it out?

Waddya think?

Cheers
Willard

it can be done. the split headlights will bolt right on but the fairing will need modifcation due to mirror placement.

Lights too?

Thanks Wone, but I only want the fairing part, would I need new lights as well?

Ideally I'd like to be able to buy "just" the front fairing and replace my 2002 one.

Cheers.

I'm pretty sure the 03+ headlight is a different shape to the 02. I was thinking about this as well, my query was whether the 03+ cockpit would bolt straight on to the 02 lower fairings.... i tlooks like it should.

Let us know how you get on.

Frankentona955 did this swap and had this to say...

"The only differences are the Upper Fairing Stay (the bracket that holds the upper fairing in place), and the headlight. The '04-'06 upper fairing will bolt to the '02-'03 bodywork with no problems. Both generations use the same fairing lowers. The gauge cluster fits into the newer fairing stay, and the newer fairing stay bolts up to the frame perfectly."

I also want to do this mod in the future using the 2004 Union Jack fairing. Let us know how it goes.
