power commander...now it won't rev?

Got a quick question! I just got a second hand power commander for $56 via flEabay and got it installed. Finally figured out how to program it after many failed google attempts. Bike finally idled and revved at low rpm properly...I thought wow...that was way too easy.

And so it was, 4 minutes into my joy ride I "opened it up" and passing 7,500 revs she choked down. Next, I get the bike restarted and it won't rev past 2,500-3k and when you let the clutch out it wants to quit. Did I simply over enrich the mid and high rpm ranges and foul my plugs that quickly or did I F it up somethin fierce?!

Thanks!

talondriver9382, First thing I'd try is removing the PCIII and check for mechanical fall out.

I would start with what BradTX said and remove the power commander. The PC is isolated from the daytona ECU so there is no way you can burn anything out. Things to check would be:
-commander wiring installed correctly with proper ground and power
-The correct PC map for your bike. Bad maps can really f-up the fuel system.
-Check the LED indicator on the PC. It should rev up with the twist of the throttle.

When connecting to the PC software, did you have it zero the manual adjustment buttons? Also check the throttle position adjuster in the software and make sure the PC is insync with throttle position.

If that doesn't get you anywhere and it runs fine with it off, but messed up with it on, the PC may be toast, either hardware or wiring harness.

hmmm...

xacto...sent you a pm with some gruesome details of the system.

I plan to tear it back down this afternoon and see whats what. Hopefully I can get it done before I head to survival...I'ma be pretty pissed when I get back and get my bike working just in time for winter!

Thanks again for the help bros!

ECU tune

One more critical thing...I read somewhere that the PC3 doesn't jive with the Triumph hi/low level exhaust tunes?! I have the hi tune on my bike to deal with my akrapovic and K&N...imagine this could be part/all of the problem?

That is exactly your trouble.
You CANNOT run a power commander ontop of an existing ECU tune (that changes it from stock setting). Your triumph Hi/lo tune is messing with the PC. The pc changes the fuel curve of a stock ECU map. Without this base to reference the PC is waaaaay off.

Using a dyno, you could build a new map to compensate for this tune, but that is costly and kind of defeats the purpose. You need to get your ECU set back to stock and then you can use downloadable maps.
