T3 Daytona center stand

I recall others have mentioned that they've fitted a Trophy/Trident or similar center stand to an original 95-6 T3 Daytona.

Specifically what stand did you use and what did you have to modify to make it work/fit properly without touching something its not supposed to?

I'm not likely to grind anything with my riding but a center stand would make it fit where I have to park much better. Sprint mfg UK makes one but the cost and shipping make it an expensive choice for US.

Thanks.

DJW,
I fitted a centerstand from a Trophy to my 96 Daytona 1200 with no problems at all. http://www.triumphrat.net/photogalle...6/centerstand/
The only issue I had was that the Daytona doesn't have a rubber stop on the exhaust to keep the stand from klunking against the pipe when riding down the road. I remedied this by drilling a small hole in the stand and popped in a rubber stop (see photos) off a bike from a local motorcycle junkyard. The springs are a hassle to attach as the holes to hook them on are waaaay up inside the frame on two tabs sticking off the back or the mounting bracket the stands attaches to. I bought mine off eBay and I see them on there from time to time.

Good luck, if you have any other questions feel free to ask,
regards,
dc

Yes, I saw your photos and info. Looks good and reasonably low hassle.

I am wondering what sprintmfg does to their Daytona kits (something bent or adjusted to keep it from banging on something?). Not sure but it would cost north of $225 (that's BMW territory) to get it here, and still $150+ for the Trophy parts from Baxter.

I have to look under a Trident and see why it is different.

Sorry, don't know the answer to that one.

I just took a quick look through eBay and there aren't any available at the moment but when they are they usually go for $50 +/-

If I come across one I'll let you know

I was rummaging around in some spares I bought a while ago and found a Trident 900 center stand (no mounting hardware) in fair shape. I can't imagine why that would not work?

After rolling around on the floor under the sIII, there is no way it is going to fit the bike with a Yoshimura 3-1 in place - the pipe routes right by the rh mounting lug. Probably not a problem with the stock exhaust on, was considering doing that anyway.

seeking out all knowledge: It's also apparent that changing the oil filter would be a major undertaking with the Yoshimura 3-1 on. How much dismantling is reqd to get the oil filter loose? Anyone, anyone with a 3-1?
