Hey guys is there any motor differnce between the 955 daytona and the 955 speed triple... Dynojet has way more maps for the speed triple than the daytona.. so i was wondering if the motors where the same then y couldnt i use the maps....thanks John

Somebody out there will know more about this than me, but the Daytona's got a few more tweaks to some internal parts to give it a few more horses and top end speed...

I believe the differance is cam profile,fuel injection and gearing (trans).,,,,John

Your best bet is either a PCIII or Tuneboy and dyno tuning from scratch to clean up your map. I did it with my S3 and OMG is it smoother with more even power throughout the powerband, even moreso than before.

I run a Power Commander and had it tuned on a dyno. My Daytona runs well. I like the Power Commander as I believe it can get the most from the motor however it much be tuned by an experience tech on a dyno...John

No, they installed the PC before they put it on the dyno, But my seat of the pants says it made a huge differance....John

Yeah, having the air/fuel ratios smoothed out makes a huge difference with roll-on power and throttle response. Even if the resultant max power isn't much higher, the rideability difference is quite notable.

Daytona's.......

Cams are different. Forged pistons. Shot peened rods. Nicasil coated aluminum liners. Valve sizes may be different, but possibly not all years. (not sure on that one.

Speed Triple......

Cast pistons. Iron cylinder liners.
