Got on the Daytona last night to come home from work around 11. Turn the key on, start the bike, as I am getting ready to pull out of the lot, I realize it's mighty dark around here. Then it dawns on me, I have no gage cluster lights... I figure no problem, I'll ride home sanely so as not to draw the ire of the local constabulary, and figure it out sometime later in the week when I have time. So I start to roll out of the lot again and realize there is no headlight, and this is a problem.

So I pull back to the shop door where I can work w/ some light, pull the seats and fuse panel cover. All fuses check ok. Hooking the trouble light up, I am not getting any juice to the three light circuits on the one side of the fuse panel. What is really odd is I have brake lights, turn signals, and the parking light still works (which iirc uses the same filament as the std running light for the red rear light).

I've got 7 good riding days and one crappy rainy one in the forecast before the dealer can get me in. Anyone have any help or suggestions on what to check?

I have this SAME problem with my T595, and can't seem to track it down either.

Make sure your battery connections are real clean. Also the Earth Block on the older models need replacing when stuff starts shorting out. I haven't heard of it happening on the '01 and up models though.
Squidrat, I have a '70 Honda CB 350, which I have had for a couple of years. I can't seem to get mine to run smoothly past 3000 RPM. I replaced the points and it idles fine, but rev it up and it breaks up. I rebuilt the carbs, etc. Any ideas?

batt. conn's are still sealed in factory grease, and tighter than a (insert favorite colloquialism here). What is this earth block you are talking about? I am assuming it is some sort of grounding block somewhere on the frame which acts like the opposite of a power buss.

re your CB, it's been several years since I had that bike, and I have to admit I never messed w/ the ignition on it, but it sounds like your coil doesn't have enough time to saturate before sparking. New coil/magneto (whichever it is) probably square it away.

I know this may seem somewhat dumb, but have you checked the connectivity of the headlight bulbs and the bulbs themselves? A long time ago (not on a triumph) I had an issue with lights that showed all the symptons of lack of power supply on the circuits but turned out to be the bulb itself... and even went as far as affecting other completedly unrelated lights on the bike!
