Chain & Sprockets

Need to replace chain and sprockets.

Have got quotes on O-Ring and X-Ring chains. Do not know much about chains can someone explain the benefits of X-Ring over O-Ring?

Also what milage should one expect from a new chain and sprockets?

I had 28k km on the original chain on my 955. It was still tight on the sprockets, didn't seem stretched but had a click that I couldn't find. Put on a new chain and the noise went away.
I think I must have damaged a few links spraying brake cleaner around the back wheel, other than that there was lots of life left in it.
