18K miles... sloppyness

Hello, my 955i has just hit 18,000 miles and things are feeling a little sloppy. The front brake I know I can fix by swapping it out with a GSX-R master cylinder, but the clutch is pretty sloppy, though doesn't slip (Even after replacing the cable) and the gear changes obviously aren't as crisp as they used to be.

I've got a fairly comprehensive set of tools, a haynes manual, and have a spare bike and car, so do have the opportunity to take it apart and take my time about it. What do I need to do to get the clutch and gear changes feeling closer to that 'new' feeling? whole new clutch & gearbox or just some select parts? Unfortunately, whilst time and effort are irrelevant budget is, so I'd like to be keeping costs low!

Thanks in advance.

How's your chain and sprockets? Could they be so worn that there may be cause for sloppiness?

loco, I've found that by extending the caliper pistons and cleaning them with a brush and brake cleaner to work very well. When I adjusted the clutch cable on the '04 it seemed that there is quite a narrow range of adjustment. Not so much on the '98...perhaps cable routing difference?
