The955iMan is absolutely right. If you look up the stats for the 675 and compare them to a 955i, you will see the 675 is quicker in the 0-60, 0-100, etc. I personally would keep the bike, wait for a wiring harness to become available on ebay, get it running then sell it. Nobody wants to buy a non-running bike for 3000. I'll start the bidding at $955 (Canadian, including shipping and handling).

Yeah, Ok, Im keeping her FOR NOW!

I will keep her for now and when I find the time to fix'er up, I will. I'll get her running again and then sell her, but for the meantime, I need a second vehicle and it's kind of hard to find the time to fix her when I have two jobs and am going to school...Life's a beach!

Smile Ok, Last question.

I guess since I am going to keep the bike and put a new wiring harness in, I should know what I need in order to do this and how long this would appx. take. I will wait for a wiring harness off of Ebay and she'll sit in the garage till I fix her. I could use a list of tools I will need, what all I should look out for when doing this process or even a set of direction by step. I guess some tips is what Im asking for since I haven't done this before. Thanks in advance!

Replacing a harness is not really a difficult job. Requires minimal electrical tools as there is no real wiring connections to make - everything is pretty much plug n play via connectors.
Just be sure you get a T595 (ideally) or even T509 harness in a pinch, either from 97-98 bike - 99-01 is different because of the different ECM, so make sure you don't get that! (the one you require is easy to distinguish because it has a single long connector for the ECM vs the two 'square' plugs for the later model.)

You need to remove the tank, tail & airbox, then just start disconnecting connectors & cut the ties that hold the harness in place. Might be a good idea to phtograph some of the connectors so you have a reference.

Lay in the new harness and start re-connecting plugs again. Most connections will be pretty obvious from their location - refer to your photos for assistance if necessary. Also consider taping masjing tale with ID on the 'old' harness so you can also refer back to that.

Connect the battery last, +ve first, then -ve as your final connection

Then fire her up!!!

Even at an easy pace this shouldn't be more than 2 hr job.

One thing to watch out for - you will need an alarm bypass plug so need to be sure that is available

What is this part and what does it look like. My tech at the shop said specificly that this is where the root of all my electrical problems began. He said that someone tried putting in an alarm system and didn't finish the job or something. Fused a bunch of wires together at the accessory connection to the harness and electrical taped it all together unfinished. Then it fried. So I wouldn't know where to begin on this alarm bypass plug.

Well I figured you wouldn't have it, given your ealier described 'hack' job. So hopefully when you buy one it will come with your replacement harness .
It is s simple bypass plug that fits into the alarm connector ; it has a loop to complete the circuit in the absence of an alarm. http://www.alpineroads.com/t595/datatool/index.htm

If you locate a harness & find it missing, I think I have one (bypass plug) kicking around the tool box.
