Can anyone help, is lightning yellow the right name? What's the colour code?

Did you bother to do a search? There is a lot of information out there if you take a moment and look.

I did a simple search for "paint codes" and it came up with 7 pages of posts concerning paint codes.

just paint it Tornado Red...it will be faster

There are two:
LIGHTNING YELLOW
STRONTIUM YELLOW - SERIAL NUMBER 53381 AND BELOW

I'm not sure what years they painted what or what the paint codes are but I hope this gets you closer to what you want.

Actually I did do a search, and none of it answered what the name of the yellow colour used in 1999 was. And no thanks to you, I still don't know!
