So what's the scoop? Spring is right around the corner and the winter time projects need to be coming to an end. Those warm riding days are going to start to get more and more often we got'ta get those mods wrapped up...

What was your winter time modification?

I'm in the middle of having the Ohlins springs and Racetech gold valves that I purchased last year installed in my forks. While they are apart, I'm having the sliders powdercoated black.
While I have all the bodywork off and the front suspension apart, I also took apart the triple tree, checked and repacked the bearings and reinstalled waiting for the "new" forks.

Last season I installed a 3 into 1 exhaust and I didn't care for having the left side mount dangling out there with nothing attached to it. So, I purchased another peg bracket and cut off the exhaust mount, filed and sanded it smoothe and am having it powdercoated with the fork sliders. It should look much better when finished.

So, What have you been doing over the winter?.....

Okay, okay...just to relieve the silence, I'll tell you that I installed frame sliders front and rear, and installed a one tooth smaller CS sprocket. I also ordered a touring windscreen, but they had to order it in from Europe and it hasn't shown up yet. If I finally get a job soon, I'll be getting a Penske shock, too.

I'm with j98sprint, I haven't missed but a few days of riding this winter and that was due to cold rainy days. I was pretty much alone out there the day temps hit 16. But I did just put on a new chain and 47 tooth rear sprocket. The bike now rides at about 4K rpm and up so its all pretty much sweet spot now. It wasn't easy finding a 47 tooth sprocket. I called sprocket specialist and they wanted 80.00 and 6 weeks. I got one at

Rebel Gears

for 70.00 and they made it in a day. The bike will now pick the front wheel off the ground going into second and third if I don't let off the throttle while shifting.
